My husband and I recently traveled to Ireland on a Quilting Tour with Kris Vierra. We absolutely had a blast. The selection of places we visited and the people we met were wonderful. It was a good mix of typical tourist stops along with weaving mills, quilt shops, sheep farms and small local craft shops. Kris is a fun and friendly person filled with interesting information about the areas we visited. She went out of her way several times to take care of special needs in the group. A special treat was the opportunity to talk with Kris one-on-one while we traveled and get advice and quilting questions answered. We both had wanted to visit Ireland and having Kris with her knowledge and experience helped to make this adventure a carefree experience that we will cherish always. I can’t wait for our next adventure with Kris.

In 2022 I traveled on a group tour in Ireland with Kris Vierra. Kris was excellent tour leader. Kris was energetic, organized, knowledgeable, patient, with a good sense of humor. Kris also found additional activities for those of us that were interested. I highly recommend going on any tour Kris leads. I hope to travel with her again.

This was my first ever group tour. It was absolutely fantastic. The pre trip information was good and the support during the early stages of travel instantaneous. Our itinerary was inventive and flexible enough to allow unplanned experiences which turned out to be once in a lifetime opportunities. Who knew we would be able to photograph a huge red Irish buck in his natural habitat!!! It was a perfect blend of city and country life. Can hardly wait for the France tour!!!

Kris led a group of us to Ireland for a Fiber Tour. The tour was more than I had expected. We got to tour woolen Mills, Sheep Farms and learned so much. We also got to see many scenic sites. The tour was very organized and well run. Kris is an excellent tour guide. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.

Join me for 12 incredible days exploring the textiles of the Land of the Rising Sun. This textile tour of Japan includes several fascinating hands on workshops including one on Shibori dyeing and the other on Roketsu dyeing. Visits to Japan’s Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square, Nippori fabric town, Quilt Party, the Sashiko, Itchiku Kubota (traditional kimono collection), and Narumi Shibori museum provide plenty of opportunities to learn about the rich textile heritage of Japan, (and of course lots of opportunities to shop for unique fabrics).

Textile experiences rich in the French tradition abound in this tour. From visits to specialty shops to attendance at Quiltmania’s Pour l’Amour du Fil show, you are surrounded by vibrant fibers, fabric printing history, and French culture. The trip begins with a visit to Claude Monet’s amazing garden and home in Giverny, then, it’s on to a half-day walking tour with a local textile artist to discover textile shops that are hidden treasures.

In Avignon, there is ample time to explore the captivating villages and towns of the beautiful region of Provence with outings to beloved markets and the opportunity to tour The Quilt House La Maison du Boutisuse, (a quilt and costume museum in the charming village of Calvisson). In Lyon, visit the Textile Museum and become immersed in 2,000 years of textile history. 
The trip concludes with the Quiltmania’s Pour l’Amour du Fil quilt show in Nantes, one of Europe’s most prestigious fiber events, with an impressive gallery of artwork and international vendors offering the latest wares. Following the show, we return to Paris for a farewell dinner before departing for home.
