My husband and I recently traveled to Ireland on a Quilting Tour with Kris Vierra. We absolutely had a blast. The selection of places we visited and the people we met were wonderful. It was a good mix of typical tourist stops along with weaving mills, quilt shops, sheep farms and small local craft shops. Kris is a fun and friendly person filled with interesting information about the areas we visited. She went out of her way several times to take care of special needs in the group. A special treat was the opportunity to talk with Kris one-on-one while we traveled and get advice and quilting questions answered. We both had wanted to visit Ireland and having Kris with her knowledge and experience helped to make this adventure a carefree experience that we will cherish always. I can’t wait for our next adventure with Kris.

In 2022 I traveled on a group tour in Ireland with Kris Vierra. Kris was excellent tour leader. Kris was energetic, organized, knowledgeable, patient, with a good sense of humor. Kris also found additional activities for those of us that were interested. I highly recommend going on any tour Kris leads. I hope to travel with her again.

This was my first ever group tour. It was absolutely fantastic. The pre trip information was good and the support during the early stages of travel instantaneous. Our itinerary was inventive and flexible enough to allow unplanned experiences which turned out to be once in a lifetime opportunities. Who knew we would be able to photograph a huge red Irish buck in his natural habitat!!! It was a perfect blend of city and country life. Can hardly wait for the France tour!!!

Kris led a group of us to Ireland for a Fiber Tour. The tour was more than I had expected. We got to tour woolen Mills, Sheep Farms and learned so much. We also got to see many scenic sites. The tour was very organized and well run. Kris is an excellent tour guide. Always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.

I would highly recommend a tour with Kris! She is very, very organized (but flexible) in terms of providing information and structure for a trip, and she goes the extra mile by regularly engaging with each participant throughout the tour. She will partner with you in making the trip as rewarding as you want it to be, whether by fixing problems, encouraging “out of the box” thinking for places to explore, sharing life stories, or vowing to find you if you get lost! I was on the France 2024, tour and it was like the best of summer camp -- new activities, food, and places to discover every day, diverse companions, and endless opportunities to learn about and embrace a different culture. C’est la vie – especially with tea and “un pain au chocolat!”

We are still talking about the amazing sites, the funny bits (luggage tossing, the Rod Stewart bathroom, among others) and the good friends we made. You and Opulent Journeys did a stand-out job on selecting guides who were knowledgeable and fun. You, yourself, were endlessly caring, making sure everyone was ok and having a great experience.
