Insanity
Inspired by a quilt I once saw, this piece took me seven years to figure out how to make, but just two weeks to bring to life once I had a plan. The quilt features 130 small 2-inch LeMoyne stars, each one carefully pieced (the thimble in the picture gives you an idea of their size). I quilted traditional feathered wreaths and cornucopias with grapes in the large setting squares, and a meandering design fills the space behind the stars. For a deeper dive into the journey behind this quilt, check out my blog post, “My Quilt is Cursed,” where I share the full story of this quilt’s challenges and triumphs.
