I had been dreaming of making a Stevie Nicks-inspired, ’60s-style jacket for quite a while, and when the SewBatik 2019 fabric was released, I knew the time had come. I combined several different patterns to create the look I envisioned, carefully piecing them together for a unique design.

The bottom of the jacket features a crazy quilt style, blending a variety of fabrics to create a rich, textured effect, while the top is a mix of the challenge fabric and turquoise acetate for a pop of color.

To add extra dimension, I free-motion quilted the entire piece with a range of motifs, including feathers, flowers, and a variety of background fillers, giving it a layered, artistic touch. It’s a fun, personalized piece that blends creative quilting with a vintage vibe.
